Hi all,
Just a brief question. How do I restore my Toshiba Satellite C660 to the factory settings? I have no recovery disks etc, and there is nothing on the PC I need to back up. Simply a straightforward factory restore to its original settings,

Some sites say press 0 (zero) and follow instructions. Others say press F8 and follow instructions. Hopefully one of these is correct but which one?

Thanks in advance.

If you don’t have recovery DVD (you didn’t create it) you can install recovery image following instructions at
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

If this will not work you must order original recovery disc on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Thanks. The laptop didn't come with any restore discs, and there's nothing on here I need to keep or back up, so the F8 etc option looks like the way to go. The PC came with Win 7 pre-installed and I haven't modified anything on it since purchasing over 12 months ago.

Thanks again.

. The laptop didn't come with any restore discs,

No new notebook model would be released with an recover disk… the recovery disk needs to be created using an preinstalled software called Toshiba recovery media creator… but this and other recovery methods were explained in user manual.

Just to clarify. By using option 2 in the above link (the "TOSHIBA Recovery Wizard"), the laptop will be restored to the way it was when I first bought it from Argos?

I'm not very techie as you may have gathered!

Yes, recovery sets the notebook back to the same state like at the first day of purchase
