Satellite L505-10M - FN keys are not working
Posted: 09-Aug-2012 15:28

On my Satellite L505-10M, the FN keys no longer work.
I downloaded vap-20091202163002.zip and let it remove everything.
Restart. Reinstalled vap and fcsu-20091202161105.Zip again.
Restart. FN keys are still not working!!!!

Only a FN icon is added in the system area with no response on left or right clicks.
Something else must be wrong yet. But what????

Helpful
When you open “Settings for Flashcards” and activate option “Allow the mouse to bring up the cards” can you see flash cards when you move mouse pointer to the top of the screen?

Hello Xavier

Thanks for your reply.

Yes that is working. But not the FN key on the board or a responce by click on the FN icon in the systembar.

Xaver’s idea was good to check if flash cards works or not in general.
Try please to restart your notebook and press FN key several times to see if flash cards will be shown or not.
Try also to restart flash cards (start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > restart flash cards).

I had similar issue after Win7 installation on my old Satellite A300 but somehow it started to work suddenly.
If nothing will help you can reinstall whole OS using recovery image and start to use notebook with “factory settings” again or use flash cards with mouse pointer. It is not the best solution but main thing is that you can use them.

Topic can be closed, I checked configurations and found some wrong settings.
Everything is working again.

Thanks for all efforts.
