Sound problems AT300-101 tablet

Good day,

Recently bought a Toshiba AT300-101 16GB 10.1" tablet. All good, very nice tablet indeed. Powerful hardware and a snappy operating system.

However, after a few days, the sound stopped working completely. Even the system sounds wouldn't play. Nothing at all.

We tried everything, from adjusting volume levels to plugging in ear phones, but the only way we could get it to play any sound was by resetting it to factory settings. This recovered all the sound.

A few days later, it happened again. We had a look at the apps which we had installed, but only Facebook had been installed since the factory reset. It now happens regularly, not even lasting a day without losing all sound.

Any ideas? I really don't want to send it back for a refund because it's the best tablet I've used so far.

Many thanks

Hi

Did you check for Android updates?
Start the service station and check if an update is available…
Would be interesting to know if this would solve the sound issue

I ran the Toshiba update utility.

The Android version if 4.0.3.05.000050722

It says that no software updates are available, so I assume this is the latest version of Android.

Ran some system info apps. Got this information:

BuildInfos Android version : 4.0.3 Release Codename : REL API LEVEL : 15 CPU ABI : armeabi-v7a Manufacturer : TOSHIBA Bootloader : unknown CPU ABI2 : armeabi Hardware : tostab11BA Radio : unknown Board : tostab11BA Brand : TOSHIBA Device : tostab11BA Display : IML74K.05.000050722 Fingerprint : TOSHIBA/tostab11BA/tostab11BA:4.0.3/IML74K/05.000050722:user/release-keys Host : dps3build5.local ID : IML74K Model : AT300 Product : tostab11BA Tags : release-keys Type : user User : android-toshiba

Has anyone got any ideas? Otherwise, I'll have to send it back.

Hi

I have exactly the same problem, I got my tablet AT 300 3 month ago, sound is not working and I was wondering if you send it back or maybe you got some help and you fixed? I dont want to send it back either, too much hastle and if its something that every tablet has there is no point to send it back.

I had the same problem with my AT300-101. But i found out that the problems are caused by the codec from Mx player (version6) ... So simple have to update the codec to version7 and finished ... No problems anymore.
It is possible that u don't have this codec so search whether u have installed any music or video player or codec pack then u have to try by deinstalling one after another which one it is...

I hope i can help u

Ps. Sorry for my bad English ;)
