Posted: 14-Jul-2012 17:31

Hi All,

If I plug my external speakers into the headphone jack they work ok, if I then remove the jack the sound comes from the laptops internal speakers for approx 10 secs before cutting out. if I then plug in the external speakers everything is ok, I then disconnect them, the internal speakers work for approx 10 secs before cutting out........... ad infinitum

any ideas anyone ?

When I start my laptop I do not hear any startup sound - I do not get any notification sounds - I do not get any shutdown sounds. When I plug my external speakers in they work fine - when I unplug them the laptop sound works for approx 10 secs. I have downloaded the latest Realtek audio software - makes no difference - I have the latest drivers - makes no difference
I am going to remove the drivers & realtek software & reinstall them.
I'll post what happens when I've done it.

Anybody know the best location the get the drivers & realtek software?

The sound driver for this notebook model can be found on Toshiba European driver page but you can also download the driver directly from Realtek page. You need the Realtek HD Audio Codec Driver

I have downloaded & installed Realtek Driver - 'Vista_Win7_Win8_R270.zip' from the Realtek site.

I now have sound from my laptop speakers.

Thanks.
