How to make Camileo x200 to work as a Webcam?

Hi all,

I just bought a Camileo X200 camera. I'm trying to make it work as a webcam. I have the visual on my screen, but am not allowed to record, or use the zoom or any other option.

Is there any way to solve this problem ?

I'm using the software youcam 5 to record.

Hi

As far as I know you can use the webcam modus for live video conference using an 3rd party software like Skype for example… In user manual there is a note: zoom is available for video recording only.
So possibly you cannot use it in webcam mode.
Furthermore I’ve got another Camileo camcorder and in my case the zoom does not work if the image stabilization is enabled. Check this too.

Regarding the recording:
In my opinion you cannot use the cam as a webcam and record an video at the one and same time.
As far as I know the software you are using needs to record video using the webcam .

I'm also having problems setting this cam up as a webcam. I am using a macbook and I can't even get this to work with Skype. When I try to change my skype preferences to the x200, the camera disconnects.

Hi, I bought this camera, but as I try to use it as webcam, the image is very blurry. Does anyone have the same problem? I tried everything, but it is still blurry.

You have to ensure good light conditions… the blurry quality is the result of bad light.

Well, the room was well litten, as much a room can be litten on a sunny afternoon.
There must be another reason. I tried it on another computer(both windows 7), and the same happens.
Can it be a bug? MS website says that camileo camcorders are supported by windows 7.

I've been in contact with Toshiba Support for the same problem:
Unfortunatly, the features on the Camileo X200 (zoom, quality of image, etc...) cannot be controled whilst in webcam mode.
Here is the e-mail they have sent me:

Dear ********

Toshiba Reference Number: ********

Thank you for your recent reply regarding your x200 in webcam mode.

We have tested the X200 here on one of our notebooks and the zoom function via the remote control and the controls on the camera do not respond to any input. This would mean that in Webcam Mode the camera settings are as is.

I have sent an e-mail to ask if we are able to adjust these settings before being in the webcam mode...
