Satellite L650 does not detect wifi networks
Posted: 20-Jun-2012 09:48

My Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop stopped detecting wireless networks.
It only shows dail-up and vpn...

The wireless network is not being detected.
I was able to connect to the network using my phone so something went wrong with the laptop.

I also checked if the broadcom 802.11n is working or not and it dispayed as working perfectly.
But does not detect wifi networks.

Could someone help me with this?

Is WLAN card enabled properly?
Is WLAN LED on when you use FN+F8 key combination?

Correct
And how to check if the lan card is enabled or disabled??
Do you really mean LAN card?
LAN card is enabled if you plug the LAN cable

Regarding the WLan card.
Start with basics:
Uninstall the Wlan driver, reboot the notebook, download the compatible driver from Toshiba page and install it.
Check the device manager if Wlan card is listed there properly.
Now uninstall VAP and Flash Card Support Utility.
Reboot the notebook, download both tools from Toshiba driver page and install it: first VAP then flash cards.
These tools controls FN buttons so you need it to enabled Wlan.

Then go to control panel -> Network & Sharing Center -> Mange wireless networks (on the left)
and here add new WLan profile… configure properly using right SSID, encryption and encryption password…
