Memory Slot B is not working of my Satellite L

I have bought a replacement memory module, which is compatible, but it does not work. I have moved the original module to slot b to test the slot. When I boot the laptop it says to move the memory module to slot A.
Why won't it boot with the module in slot B?
Is slot B faulty or can I configure it to accept a memory module?

Hi
Can you please tell us which notebook model do you have and which RAM module you have bought?
You must understand that on this virtual way it is not easy to say much about your issue.
Fact is that modules for upgrade must be compatible with hardware platform of your notebook.
This forum is full of different but similar reports where people have such problems.
Mostly the problem was RAM itself. Looking for cheap solution people buy some no-name product and not high quality products. The "Value" RAM Modules use a lot of cheap chips utilizing multiple banks/channels, which can cause compatibility problems with some Chipsets/CPU's.

Hi
What notebook model do you have exactly?
In many cases the different notebook models require the usage of memory slot A if only one module would be used! But this does not mean that slot B is faulty.
So if you use only ONE memory module, you use the slot A.

I think you are right, but I wanted to put the question out there anyway. Thanks for that.
I didn't know that Toshiba only have certain module manufacturers that work in their units, so I will replace the module with exactly the same as I have now which is a 1GB Samsung DDR2 module.
Everyone else say's Kingston or Toshiba, but my module is Samsung.....
