OK I am at my wits end with this one

Equium L40-10x. Screen has gone dark. Can just about see details on the screen if held up to light. Works fine when connected to external display.

Replaced inverter - screen still dark
Replaced screen - screen still dark
Replaced display cable - screen still dark

Only other thing I can think of is that the replacement inverter was faulty too?

What else could it be?

This is a typical sing of FL inverter issue…
The FL inverter is a small part hidden behind the plastic frame and this controls the display backlit.
I assume this needs to be replaced…

New part can be purchased from Toshiba authorized service provider…
Get in contact with the guys in your country and ask for fix.

Hi thanks but if you read again, I already tried a replacement inverter.

I also tried a 3rd inverter and still no joy!

So thats, 2x inverters tried, 1x new screen tried, 1x display cable tried.

I cant understand what else can be wrong - as I said I've tried the laptop on an external display and it works fine... just wont display on a laptop screen :(

Not new parts no, price of new parts exceeds the value of the laptop... Was assured the parts were taken from working laptops though.

Probably just dismantle the laptop and sell the parts now. Spent too much time on it.

Can only think its a problem with the motherboard/output socket.

I don’t think so since this would affect an external monitor too…
Usually it should be a FL inverter issue… are you sure you have connected all parts properly?
Maybe the other FL inverter or one of the used parts was faulty too…
