My webcam and microphone have recently stopped working. Model satellite C660-1F1.

If anybody could help me sort it out that would be great.

After reading this one sentence problem description it is not easy to say when he problem is.
We don’t know what can be the reason for that.

Have you done anything that can be responsible for this issue?

Try to roll back OS to earlier time using system restore option. Maybe this will help.

Hi,
I don't know if I have the updated drivers or if I changed anything. The LED light does not come on. On Skype it says 'webcam cannot be detected'.
I don't know how to use system restore option.
Thanks.

Hi

Don’t panic :)
First of all uninstall the installed webcam software.
How? Go to control panel -> software
Here pick up the webcam software from the installed list and uninstall the software and reboot the system.

Now visit the Toshiba European driver page:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
Choose the notebook model and download the webcam software.
Unzip the package and install the application.

Reboot once again and try to start the webcam choosing the webcam software from;
All Programs -> Toshiba

Strange that recovery disk did not solve this…
Go to BIOS (pressing F2) and here check if the webcam is enabled.
Additionally you could set the BIOS to default and save the changes…
The webcam should appear in device manager; either as webcam or as unknown device in case the driver/software would not be installed properly…
