Hi thanks for the help
The hard disk is recognized in the BIOS.
I even tried a vista disk to see if it could see the hard disk to install to and it can.
I downloaded intel storage manager from
https://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp? (it comes in a .zip file with an .exe inside, I ran the .exe and put all the files it creates in a folder and then copied it to a usb stick)
I tried to install windows 7 again and when it comes to the install part I get the error message "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."
So I selected 'browse' and selected the usb stick folder I had copied the intel storage manager files too but I get the same error message again. Is this how I'm meant to add in the sata drivers?
Any other ideas appreciated thanks.
Possible work around: Could I install vista first and then upgrade to windows 7 using the cd key on the back of the laptop? (I have a seperate vista cd key I dont need)
