Hello,

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C660-2C7, but i have a big problem.
When i play games my intel i3-m370 gets over 90 degrees and my ati HD5470 as well and it keeps getting hotter and hotter . In normal use the CPU stays at 55-65 and GPU at 60-70.

I tired changing the power management, resintalling windows. I'm using Windows 7 - 64bit with drivers from Toshiba Support page.

Please help me and lots of thanks.

Hi

Does the notebook shut down automatically?
If not, the temperature is not too high… but of course the CPU and GPU temperature would always increase to a higher level while gaming…
All the parts have to work with highest performance running a game or other high performance applications…

At the other hand you can try to decrease the CPU performance in Win 7 power options (set it to always low).
This should help to keep the temperature under the critical level.

Furthermore you can try to change some option Toshiba HWSetup Utility.
There is a tab called CPU. There you can find the option “Dynamic CPU frequency mode”. Set it to “dynamical switchable” or “Always Low”

In BIOS try to disable the "Intel Turbo boost Technology"

Cleaning the fans might be a good idea…
From time to time it’s necessary to clean the fans using the compressed air spray…
This helps you to remove dust from the cooling grilles. The dust affects the air circulation and could lead to higher internal temperature…
