Qosmio X770 3D - Nvidia Display drivers for Diablo 3

Here we go again.
I have the 3D panel version of the Qosmio (X770 PSBY5A-00X01D)and I cannot update the display drivers from Nvidia. If I do, I lose my primary display. (Attached diplays work fine.)
So, trying to install the OEM Nvidia 296.10 suite effectively disabled the laptop's screen.

This is not acceptable.

Toshiba needs to provide much more timely updates to their video drivers!!!!

Diablo 3 runs like a pig, and I can only assume it is due to the age of the v8.17.12.6885 drivers they provide.

I paid a lot of money for a reputable brand of laptop! Less than 1 year has passed and I cannot play current games!!

Does anyone know a way of getting the drivers updated?

It is clear we are not supported by Toshiba.
I won't be recommending them to anyone for this reason.

Correct

Why not go onto Nvidias website and download the laptop driver.

Thats what I do and it works fine.

The full package doesnt but the laptop package does.

I also have X770 with 3D panel, got latest driver from nvidea site works a treat.

as soon as i open diablo 3, its in 3D, if i want 2d simply press 3d button on front panel.

Hi!

I thought I had downloaded the "M" version package for the "mobile" chipset.
Is there another special package to download for laptops?!?

When I use the
296.10-notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql.exe
it installs with no errors, and then the laptop screen goes blank and never returns.
I had to plug in an external display to see anything.
The main screen did not appear under device manager anymore.
I had to roll-back to a previous image to regain my display.

Any other thoughts?

Okay!

I downloaded the drivers again (a new version) and unplugged the second monitor.
They work just fine.

Perhaps having a secondary display plugged in was causing the problems.

The second display also flashed on and off when trying any 3D games. Looks like the extended desktop is not well supported under 3D.

Anyway, Diablo 3 is working much better now. Not great but much better.
