I have a toshiba Satelite L650D and a Toshiba television.
Last week i plugged in the hdmi cable to watch a show and it worked fine. Then this week i tried it again and nothing.... they don't connect.

The cable is fine, because my blue ray player works perfectly.

Any ideas ????
Thanks :D

On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there.
When you connect notebook to the TV be sure that right HDMI ort is enabled. For instance, if you use HDMI 1 port on TV enable it at first and then use FN+F5 key combination to switch between LCD and TV.

When you use FN+F5 can you see several options or only one option (LCD)?

Horwath is right… choose the right HDMI port in your TV settings. Then use the FN + F5 button combination to switch to the TV.
You will need to press FN + F5 several times to get the right option.

Some of my problem is resolved. i plugged in hdmi and restarted my laptop and it is now connected. However, the sound does not come out of the tv at all, only from the laptop, i tried fixing it in playback device, but there is only SPEAKERS, no hdmi option.

In control panel -> sound -> playback tab click right and mark the settings: enable hidden devices, enable disabled devices.
Now you should see all playback devices which are available and not hidden.
If HDMI/digital output is disabled, enable this and mark it as default device… now the sound should appear on TV

Hi

In my opinion something is wrong with the installed sound driver.
Uninstall the old sound driver firstly (in device manager and in control panel -> software if available there). Then download the latest available driver on Toshiba European driver page and install. Reboot the notebook and check the HDMI functionality.
