Qosmio X770-107 - 3D emitter needs to be installed to get 3D

I have a Toshiba x770-107 and 3D nvidia Vision 2 glasses.
I had this laptop before and all I had to do was to turn on the glasses and they worked.
Now with this new laptop I had to install and plug in this emitter via usb port to get the 3d to work.

Why can't I connect the glasses without it, like I could before?
Are there models within models of the x770-107 and I bought an older one? Or do all x770's have built in emitters!? Could it be screen related? I have a dead pixel?

Also i'm suffering from gpu throttling when playing games, videos.
How can I fix this?

Thanks.

BIOS update would solve this issue as already reported in this forum.

This depends on notebook model you have purchased.
Some X770 supports an internal IR emitter.
As far as I know the internal 3D vision IR emitter should be placed on the right hand side near the internal webcam built in the display frame. The IR emitter sends signal to wireless 3D glasses.

By the way: the 3D glasses can be used for about 40hours. Then the battery is empty and needs to be charged. The USB cable provided with the glasses allows you to charge the glasses battery. (light flashes amber when charging)

Thanks for replying.

To the right of the webcam there' a square 'thing' that looks similar to the webcam (sorry don't know how better to describe it) and next to it, it says NVIDIA 3D VISION.
The exact same thing comes up under the nvidia control panel under 'stereoscopic 3D display type' - '3D Vision Discover'.

But I can't get it to work. When I plug in the emitter that pops up and works. But it annoys me that the built in one doesn't seem to be working... Is there a way I can find if it's working or not. Like in device manager? drivers etc etc?

Would replacing the screen replace the emitter??Could a driver fail to detect that my laptop has an intergrated emitter? If I have on.

My model is PSBY5E

This seems to be the IR emitter.

What do you connect exactly? As mentioned by Tonny, the glasses needs to be connected ONLY if the battery is empty. So ensure that battery in the glasses is charged!

The glasses are charged. Guess I have to use the external emitter as the so called integrated one isn't in the device manager/can't find it... and the glasses don't seem to pick it up anyway....

I’m wondering why you got an external IR emitter if your notebook would supports an internal one… hmm… this is strange…

I bought the kit separately. I have no idea what would have come with the laptop if bought brand new. I presume it's just the glasses on their own. I got it refurbished and it didn't come with the glasses.

All I need from someone/anyone lol is to show me how I can confirm the thing isn't working, so I can return it and get my money back. Or show me where it would be, i.e under device manager.

Thanks

Ohhh…. Now the issue looks more clear to me…why didn’t you mention this early in the first post!? Anyway….

The notebook is refurbished…. who knows what has been changed here. But the internal IR emitter should be a part of the display as you should see it near the webcam built in the display frame.

Yeah I see it, next to the webcam. It still has the protective sticker on it.
