I purchased a new Toshiba HDD STOR.E PARTNER portable HDD drive a week ago. I find that the Nero Backitup and Burn installation file on the drive is corrupt. When opening the file, I get a message "Extraction Failed Error: Data Error". Have tried this with my virus scanner switched off but it does not make any difference.
Is there any way to download the Nero software without having to send in the drive. I would prefer this option as I have already copied sensitive information onto the drive.
The file does not execute properly even if I download to my PC. Therefore, I am unable to obtain the serial number for the Nero software bundled with the drive. Would appreciate if there was some way to send this to me based on the serial number of my Toshiba HDD. I'd prefer not to send the drive in to Toshiba as I have already copied sensitive information onto the drive.
I’m afraid you will need to replace the HDD since the Nero BackItUp & Burn software cannot be downloaded from Toshiba page and to get the SN for this app.
So you will need to backup/delete the data from HDD and will need to replace it.
