Satellite A200 HDD drive upgrade

Hello,

My Satellite A200-1AB has an MK8037GSX GB hard drive.
It's in working order but I'd like to replace it with a larger capacity drive, say 500 GB.

Can anyone tell me if this would be straightforward, for instance would any new 2.5" SATA drive be compatible?

I have the Windows Vista Home Premium product recovery CD which came with the machine, and assume that I can just swap the drives and reinstall from the CD.

Hi

SATA controller is not limited to an specific HDD size…so it should not be big problem using bigger HDDs like 500GB.
It's important that you would use SATA 2.5” HDD…
