Virus damaged my desktop

Hey everyone,

I don't know how to discribe the whole problem but:
I got on a link and was infacted by a Virus, that opens a window...
This window told me to pay 100 €

Well, this Virus killed my Desktop, my Task...
I'm able to use the ordner "Computer", nothing else!

So if anybody can help me, PLEASE answer

Hi

I had the same issue.
I could get the desktop again but I had to edit the registry.

Start registry using command regedit.
Go to key: HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\ CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Now on the right search for ”Shell”
Click double on this and change the value to "explorer.exe"
Close registry and reboot the unit.
Should help to get explorer again.

Is this the virus that told you to contact police and pay 100Euros?

Start notebook and press F8.
Choose option “Safe mode” and start Windows in safe mode.

When windows starts in safe mode open system restore and roll back OS to earlier point. After restart everything will be OK again.
