Im a newbie here so i hope i get this right.
I have a question about this message on my desktop reading "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine." ????
I bought this Satellite c660 at Qatif, Saudi Arabia and now it is here in the Philippines.
My laptop is Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. It is asking for a product key and i cannot find one. There is no product key sticker in the bottom and i dont know where to get that.
I've run a diagnostic and i hope this helps.

Has the laptop a valid Toshiba warranty?
If so try calling Toshiba and establish if the laptop was supplied with OEM W7 and they may sell you a recovery disk BUT I don't know if that will be a pre-activated copy - Someone on here will know if you have to input the licence key from the missing sticker.
I've said the above because:
If you look near the end of your post you will see
OEM Activation 2.0 Data--> BIOS valid for OA 2.0: no, invalid SLIC table
Windows marker version: N/A
OEMID and OEMTableID Consistent: N/A
The SLIC tables are used by W7 in establishing that the o/s is legitimate. If you want to know more then read towards the end of this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942962 you will see that that SLIC corruption and values are discussed
Now, this is pretty complicated for me to understand but one thing is just clear, this is counterfeit. I have asked help from other Windows7 forums and all they tell me is to report this to Microsoft.
MANY people have counterfeit installs - very few of them actually know it! And im one of them.
A large proprtion of counterfeiting is done b vendors who can make a quick buck by buying/building OS-free machines, and installing 'Ultimate' to unsuspecting purchasers.
Another thing is that I cannot see any COA sticker anywhere my unit.
I used a keyfinder softwareto find my product key but it's not valid for activation since the key used in here is a Default Key. is is getting worst.
I am not very good with this technology stuff and im getting really frustrated.
Is it possible that if i upgrade my system to Windows 8, and use a legal purchase, will i be able to get rid of this "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine." thing???????
... where can i find a product key that i shall use to activate windows?
You cannot find it. I don’t understand your question. If you use Toshiba OS you don’t need activation key but if not you and if preinstalled OS is installed with Microsoft installation disc than you must pay for valid licence.
You must not excuse for anything. It is nice to have you here and help you.
I don’t think Toshiba Philippines can help you with this. They offer support for notebook models offered on their continent I suppose. The same is here in Europe. Toshiba Europe offers support for EMEA countries (Europe-Middle East-Nord Africa) countries only.
In my opinion you have two options only:
-to buy valid licence code and activate preinstalled OS
-to buy new Microsoft installation disc with valid licence and install it again
If you will decide to install OS again let us know. We can help you with this.
Im really in trouble now, to buy new Microsoft installation disc with valid licence it's pretty expensive. I just called a reputable store and it costs about 120 usd (in my currency thats about 5,500 pesos). Whew.
And for the other option on buying valid license code, i dont know where to get one. ???
Sorry my friend but you are not in trouble. You got notebook without OS. I mean who has bought it for you knew very well that they or you must buy installation disc and valid licence key so there is no reason to be confused or in trouble.
If you want to activate preinstalled version you can do this online. Open control panel > system and there you should find this option.
