Same issue here with a new Store.E Basic.
No way to permanently disable this annoying "go-to-sleep-after-1-mn, take-20-second-to-wake-up" so-called power-saving function.
Oh and the Load Cycle Count is at ~1000 cycles after 10 days, which is huge.
(And some people here should read the thread before risking an answer - this has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with USB voltage - this is a design flaw by Toshiba)
Had no luck contacting Toshiba for a fix - which is a rather simple one to implement, all other hard disk manufacturers provide it at some point to set/disable hardcoded automatic sleep functions. Except Toshiba.
Disappointing. Last time I deal with this brand
