Qosmio G20: DVD-RAM UJ-845S doesn't read any CD or DVD

I am a great supporter for Toshiba Product.

Please Help me

Since i had make update form my Toshiba Qosmio G20-123
My DVD UJ-845S Do not read any CD or DVD.
Before This it was operating much good. But unfortunately now, it does't not read any thing.

The system recognize it. The driver is installed and function correctly.

After installing DVDRAM from Toshiba support.
The same thing happens When reading a CD the systeme said to me :

E:/ not accessible
incorrection function

I try with some program on net but no way.

I would much be able to put original firmware, But i could not find it.
if someone can dump original Firmware for me it will be a miracle for me.

Please help.

I think I can help you:

Go to My computer click right on CD/DVD drive.
Now go to Properties; click on Recording tab and check "Enable CD recording on this drive".
Now click on Apply and reboot the notebook.

Check this workaround and post some feedback

Sorry mate but I cannot follow you now…. What happens if you click on “My Computer”? Can you see the CD/DVD drive icon?
Did you reboot the notebook after the changing the settings?

Very sorry if disturbing you.

Yes I see the CD/DVD drive icon

yes I reboot the system. and the same thing.

I had suspend the DVD-RAM service and reboot the system. And it was the same thing.

And then I uninstall DVD-RAM and reboot the system. And the same thing.

It detect the drive CD/DVD icon but no thing is read.

I think there is a problem in Firmware D102. Perhaps if i reflash it with the original Firmware it will read CD/DVD.

I would much be able to reflash my CD/DVD with the original firmware. or a newer Firmware perhap "D104"

My Matsushita uj-846s doesn't seem to want to burn any cd or DVD at all.

I think that it may have started when I updated the firmware. playing DVDs are fine but playing some cds previously burnt on the same drive seems to be a problem as it doesn't recognise the data written on it.
Other external CD drives can read it when connected to the same laptop.

Has anyone had the same issue and more importantly can anyone help solve this? """

He said I think that it may have started when I updated the firmware and i confirm this: At me the same thing happens. I am sure that the problem is in the firmware.

Hi

The Toshiba HowTO document contains the firmware 846F103S3Z.exe
Did you try that?
Otherwise check the firmware updates available on Toshiba European driver page for Qosmio G20. You need to check Archive area of driver download form.

yes i try it firmware 846F103S3Z.exe. But it said in the window that the firmware in new. and not need to this.

In the Toshiba European driver page for Qosmio G20, there is no new Firmaware.

I am sure that the problem is in the firmware. i have post that i find in a thread post since year ago. it is the same this

Hi

For me it looks like you used not compatible firmware.
Your CD/DVD drive is DVD UJ-845S but the firmware was released for UJ-845.

Anyway I found also a firmware D101 and F103…
Maybe you could use such firmware…otherwise I have no idea where you could get another version… for me it looks like the CD/DVD drive is muddled up
