Satellite R830 - low CPU benchmark

Hi,

I benchmarked my Satellite R830 with W7 WEI index. At this benchmark CPU index was 6.9.

I clean installed Windows 7 64-bit to my R830-PT32LE (i5-2410M).

I installed most of the apps and drivers. After that installation when I benchmark again CPU index was 5.2.
(WEI benchmark was done with Power Settings and adapter was plugged)

I think it is really 5.2 because its slower than before. Other than WEI, I test it with some other CPU benchmark apps and all of them gave this kind of low numbers.

What is the problem ? Is it possible if I forgot to install and driver so I get this kind of low results ?

And what is missing?

Fact is that all drivers, tools and utilities must/should be installed in right installation order.
BTW: which Win7 version do you use now? Ultimate maybe?

Yes, I have installed Windows Ultimate 64-bit.

I did not install some of the apps from Toshiba like Toshiba Book Place, Toshiba App Place, Toshiba Laptop Checkup, Toshiba Disc Creator type of apps. But all the other drivers and other critical apps like Eco Utility are installed.

Hi

Such tools like Toshiba Book Place, Toshiba App Place are don’t improve the notebook performance and are not necessary to get the notebook working properly.
These are additional tools from Toshiba providing some additional features….

I would recommend checking the tools like Chip Set Utility, Intel Management Engine Interface, Value Added Package, Rapid Storage Technology Driver

Also be sure that proper graphic card driver has been installed…
At least set the BIOS to default and save the changes.

You should not forget the Win 7 power management settings can slow down the CPU in order to save battery power so be sure that the CPU settings are set to beset performance…

I have the same problem.
I clean installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on SSD disk.
I installed all drivers and utilites from toshiba web site, all power saver settings set to maximum performance, but I still have low CPU perfomance. I think turbo boost not working, Intel torbo boost monitor shows that turbo boost is active, but CPU MAX frequency stay 2.3 GHz.
