Cannot find wireless network adapter - Satellite A100-467

Hi,

I have Toshiba Satellite A100-467 running Windows 7 on it.
Yesterday I put my notebook to hibernation and when it woke up wireless network was not working.
I checked Device Manager and there is no wireless network adapter available, seems it is not enumerated by the system.

I have tried to download and reinstall drivers for Wireless network but without success.

Any suggestion?

Does the problem persist even if you restart your notebook?

By the way: is your notebook supported for Win7? I mean does Toshiba offers all necessary drivers and other stuff?

Yes, the problem persist even after restart. I even tried to launch Recovery tool, but still no success.

And no, my notebook is not officially supported for Windows 7 but wireless LAN was working without problem before, just suddenly disappeared from Device Manager after hibernation.

What does this mean? Did you recover the notebook using the Toshiba recovery disk?

Can you see some unknown devices or Ethernet controllers in the device manager?

Try this:
Remove AC adaptor and battery.
Press Power button 30sec long.
Now connect battery and AC adaptor and power up the notebook.
Now check if the WLan would appear in device manager again.

I launched windows Backup and Recovery tool to see whether some software change had not disabled wifi adapter, that is what I meant.

There is no Ethernet Controller in Device Manager, nothing pointing to Wireless adapter.

I have tried to remove battery already before but it did not help. Tried again today with the same result.

Today my Wifi was suddenly working for a while, that made me think it would be probably a hardware issue, maybe something moved inside. I just wanted to rule out software issues before I send it to repair.
Now it is where it was before, not even displaying in Device Manager.

You must somehow check WLAN module and be sure is this hardware related issue but the question is: how to do this? Maybe it is time for professional help. What do you think?
