Which browser do you use?
Have you the same problem using different browsers?

Hi
Your problem description is not really useful… could you provide more details?
What internet connection do you use: Wlan or Lan?
Did you enable firewall or do you have some antivirus software running in the background?

Trend Micro Titanium installed at purchase is my protection.
Did you try to disable the Trend Micro Titanium and then to browse the internet?

and did you test different internet browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Opera??
Are you sure that the internet connection is established properly?
I would assume that the internet pages saved in favorites are cached and therefore you can see such internet pages but possibly there is no internet connection…
Did you restart the router/modem?

I can open sites in Favorites, send and receive data just as before. I can do this on Comcast cable or on Verizon. But I can not access any other sites on the internet. Tryed Firefox, Bing, Google. Same thing. Restored to earlier time, then restored to 2 months earlier time. Same thing.

To be honest I cannot understand this…
Maybe you should take the notebook to one of your friends and should test the internet connection with other routers…
As last solution test the connection using notebook with Toshiba factory settings (means the notebook should be recovered to the same state like at the first day of purchase)

Yesterday I tried other browers by clicking on Google or windows internet exployer to no avail. Today, I changed default browser to Google Chrome and I now can access other sites! Exployer still does not work. Should I be concerned, or just continue to "work around it"?

I think this “work around” is not the solution. We don’t know exact OS configuration and way how do you use your notebook.
What I want to know is follow: have you noticed this issue from the day one?
In my opinion you should install recovery image and test functionality with “factory settings” without any individual settings, additional software or anything else that can be reason for described issue. If everything works perfectly there is no reason for panic.
