keyboard has suddenly stopped working

You didn’t post many details regarding the keyboard issue but I think there could be a simple hardware malfunction which can be solved only by replacement of internal keyboard.

It stopped working just after a Windows update, I have looked in the Device Manager it shows this remote keyboard and indicated that the internal keyboard is a PS2 type is this correct?

Yes this is correct entry

It stopped working just after a Windows update
Well, if this would be an software/update problem, then the keyboard should still work within the BIOS. Right?
Are you able to access the BIOS pressing F2? Are you able navigate within the BIOS?
If not, then this is definitely not a software issue.

Just wondering... did you find a solution to this?

I'm experiencing what seems to be the same issue with a PC right now. Keyboard works fine enough so that the user can log in, but thevery monent they hit enter after typing in their password, the keyboard dies. An external keyboard works without trouble.

I performed a system restore to a point before the trouble began and the keyboard worked for a time - then whatever update came through happened again and the keyboard died. I removed flash and their antivirus and I could not see any new windows updates; could it be an update to one of the myriad pieces of Toshiba software these PCs are lumbere with that is causing the problem?

If anybody has found a solution - and it is software related, most definitely not hardware - I'd love to hear about it.
