Satellite A100-709 - Windows XP Pro Lost Key

Hello,

I have formatted my machine today and re-installed the same OS (Windows XP Pro) but didn't notice that my windows key on the back of my Satellite A100-709 was torn. :(

So now I have a working machine with an inactive license.
Any idea how i can retrieve it, should I be talking to Toshiba/Windows to get it knowing that they might b having it in their books?

Hello omak

Problem s that this key at the bottom is not for OS activation and it is licence for original Windows version that Toshiba has offered with this notebook.

If you use own WXP installation than you must use legal licence key for this version.
Do you have original Toshiba recovery DVD that you got with your notebook?

Hey Lamp,

Unfortunately, I do not have the the recovery CDs. Would it be possible to download them?

Not sure if you can order a recover disk for this older notebook.

Check this page:
http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

If it’s not possible to order the disk anymore, then you will need to use the clean Microsoft Windows installation disk.
