I recently installed win 7 retail over my preinstalled version. (after a quck format) then i installed the software . But contraty to popular belief, i didnt find it to be any faster.

As soon as it was installed yes it was faster (ram usge 15% OUT OF 4GB) BUT once programs were instlaled it became more or less the same.

Any one can provide any feed back on this plz?

If you install own OS but also install all listed stuff from Toshiba download page you will have almost identical situation so, in my opinion, there is no reason why you should not use original OS that you got with your notebook.

Original preinstalled recovery image (operating system) is designed for your notbook model and it will definitely work perfectly. What you need is OS optimization. Optimizing preinstalled OS your notebook will run much faster and you will be happy with it.

I use Toshiba notebooks more than 10 years and every time when I have new one in front of me I optimize OS and use it without any problems.
For instance, I have my Satellite P500 almost 1,5 years now. it is still preinstalled with original Win7 64bit and there is no problem at all. Until now I didn’t noticed one single problem like blue screen or freezing.

Do you know what I mean with “OS optimization”?

You mean defragging and CCleaner etc?- I tend to agree with you irrepestive of numerous posts on this forums claiming that clean install 'bloat free' is much faster and it's not really true.
