Satellite L755-1c3: Question about Ubuntu and Wi-fi card compatibility

Hello,

I'm planning to buy a Toshiba Satellite l755-1c3 here in Italy but since I'm an Ubuntu user I want to verify the wifi card compatibility with it.
So, I've 2 questions:

Wich Atheros card model does it mount? (wasn't able t find it on internet)
Is it working with Ubuntu 11.04?

Hi

It’s a Atheros AR9285 chip which supports 802.11bgn, Bluetooth V3.0+HS
I think it should not be a big problem for Ubuntu to recognize this chip.

Hi there

I also think the card will be supported by the kernel in Ubuntu 11.04.
However, I have seen a post here from a L775D-user with issues related to the Wifi.

So therefore I suggest You create a Live USB media and go to the shop to check that Wifi works before buying.

There is no problem.
If you geyt any problem the connect it to mobile internet or with broadband .
open terminal and paste command "sudo apt-get install b43fwcutter" without quotes.
then go to system-->administrator-->additional driver here you get your driver install it and enjoy
