BT Broadband - Do i need a plug in?

Presently have BT Broadband which is being cancelled as moving to rental for circa 6 months.
I just need a plug in (?) to be able to collect and send emails and a small amount of browsing.

What do I need, assuming I can buy something, and how do I set it up?

What notebook do you have exactly?
What system do you use?
What do you want to do exactly? Do you want to use Bluetooth or Wlan?
