LOL - yes I can see the relationship, sometimes things are to easy. Changing a 3 to a 1 and all problems are gone

The same thing I had 4 years ago on my ASUS 71 GX with a 260GTXM. But Back before ASUS had fixed the Throtteling with a Bios update NEARLY after Release of these Gaming Laptop.

The Solution is good(hope they will release a new bios update that fix alle these erros now)
but im worry about the Temps. with bios 1.30 I reach the 70c° only if I play BFBC2 at Max Details. So I will give response I come now over 70 C° because of the Downgrade ^^... I hope not... =)

I dont' now there the criticical Temp Level of this card is. The Temps of my 260gtxM were much higher in my old Asus 71GX.
Idle: 70C°
Load:85-95
Max reached 105C°

I will try to Downgrade my Bios too... bad for me my Qosmio x770-x107 came with 1.30-.- so I have to delete my system if I read the guide correctly.

I downgraded BIOS today an have run a few stress tests.
Tests runned with BURNIN Test. 5 Mins for eacht test.

Bios 1.10
CPU Temps idle ~55C°
CPU Load ~85C°

Bios 1.10
GPU Idle ~50C°
GPU Load ~68C°

Bios 1.30
CPU idle ~45C°
CPU Load ~

GPU Idle ~40C°
GPU Load after 4 minutes GPU Throtteling at 68C°

So whad do you say about the Temps?

Stay at Bios 1.10 until new Update?

dont know what to say, im still reluctant to switch back to 1.10, ive actually never seen 1.10 perform as my x770 came with 1.20 preinstalled

i guess temperatures wont matter as much as long as the performance in game will be better in either of these configs.. so stick with what you see when playing, not when measuring these temps (which are both in a range of norms)

Sry I was only worry about the lifespan of the Hardware.
You don't have Throtteling with 1.20?

Okay I will stay at 1.10. Finally I can Play at Max details without Throtteling =)

i dont really get this "throttling" how does that work? ive never been able to play any game on max details on this computer and cant imagine you doing so?

what games do u play on max? what fps are good for you in these games?
how does this throttling occur? how do you know it takes place?

I can Play BFC2 on Maximum details
Full HD, AA 8X everything on.

FPS ~35-40

Thotteling = The FPS brakes Down to ~12 for 30 Sec. This is to decrease the Heat I think. Also the Clock of the Card decreases from 7XX to 2XX MHZ.
so this 30 Seconds you play games in dia show (hope you know what I mean)
This throtteling came after every 3 mins. Much more and often at games witch have a high requirement of Hardware like battlefield bad Company 2.

i see, i had this problem but underclocking my gpu with EVGA software down 100Mhz for core completely resolved the issue

as for playing max in bfbc2 i just couldnt achieve this, max for me was 18fps @1080p
unless ure playing at a different resolution i cant imagine this computer doing 35-40 @ max details

unless 1.10 does wonders really, which i doubt it does
anyways 35 frames in any fpp is way to little for me, thats why i played medium in bfbc2 and had 50-60fps

battlefield3 on the other hand... lowest everything @1080 and had barely 40-45 fps WELL TIME TO GET A PROPER COMPUTER

For me Underclocking is no option because I don't buy a GAMING laptop there I have to underclock the gpu to make playing games confortable.

I think thats cheating on the Customers.

Which Laptop you have?
I have a Qosmio x770 -x107 with newest Nvidia driver 285.38 Beta

i GUESS its about 35-40 fps don't test it really but I will in the next time and post it. But its Liquid ^^ (I hope you know what I mean)
I play on the Laptop screen at 1080p.

Bios update do some wonders.
The same Throtteling had my ASUS g71GX but after release there was a Bios update to do something against the Throtteling.

yea even a Laptop with GTX580M can't playing Battlefield 3 at High Details.

well - unerclocking it's not exactly what you should do with the brand new laptop. Instead you wanna get max out of it isn't it? so i downgraded BIOS - all throttling problems have gone. then a little bit of GPU OVERCLOCKING! with the Aferburner (900/1800/1600) - rock solid under all tests - gave 16632 in 3dmark 2006 and 2542 in 3dmark 2011! ALL ROCK SOLID - no single crash (each test has been performed 3 times). GPU temp never went above 69C which more than normal. so now it's decent machine as it should have been from the beginning....
