using 1.70bios....

still throttleing.... it's better but not perfect ..... (fps drops still very hard)

tested on different games, Battlefield3, League of Legends , Lord of the Rings online, World of tanks,

used the latest nvidia driver 295.73

so still waiting for 1.80

Are you sure you're using the 1.70? Everybody's fine with that bios. When did you install it?
I'm playing battlefield 3 for more than 3 hours in a room where the temperature is pretty much high, the CPU temperature gets 97'C the GPU gets 73'C with the clocks 920/1600 Mhz and there's no throttling. It's the only Bios after 1.10 which hasen't the throttling. Did you try the 1.10??
What are the temperatures of your GPU/CPU?

since yesterday....

temps are ok, could it maybe that the gpu is broken?

-> had it running with bios 1.20 2months ago without throttle and after 1month instant bf3 i got those throttles and uped to 1.6 and yesterday to 1.7 but still problems,

(bios 1.10 is not a option for me cause of the loss of all guarantee)

Well that's strange. I'm playing BF3 for more than 3 months... and i got the throttling in every bios except 1.10 and the new 1.70.
I don't think that it's broken.. Maybe you did something in software...i don't know maybe tried some applications which shouldn't? If not, check the fun.
Maybe the fan doesnt work correct? Is it loud when you play?

Confirm throttling with 1.70 as well... Model is x770-10m, tested on LA Noire and Deus Ex with Nvidia 295.73 drivers. Framerate drop is less worse than with previous versions but still there. Worked perfectly fine with 1.10 (my laptop came with it). Seems to kick in when GPU temp. reaches 80°C.

Hm that's different model than mines. I have the x770-107, my GPU never goes above 73'C even after hours of gameplay of BF3. BTW i have these games(LA NOIR and Deus Ex), i'll try them and tell you the results)

As usual, thank you for trying new BIOS update 77leon77. Finally something useful from Toshiba :-)

Regarding GPU temp, I remember that I hit without any problem around 75-78C running bios 1.1 with afterburner (900/1800/1600) with a zalman cooler while playing games like Crysis and Battlefield. But I was expecting high temperatures with OC system.
Anyway, I will keep checking with 1.70 BIOS but it would be much easier if there is a single official data what is the threshold between "normal" and "high" temperature...

Also guys, one off the topic and a bit silly question , how do You remove dust from the fans since I have never done that on laptop....what is the best and easiest method?

Thanks
Akuma

To remove the dust, I usually just blow some compressed air through the vent. You can buy a Can of compressed air from electronic shops. I avoid using a vacuum cleaner since they can generate too much static electricity and may damage the notebook.

Thanks Akum and you too Blob (blowdryer, well that is something! :-) :-) with hot or cold exhaust ? :-) )

Yes, I think I saw that can, but wasn't very sure is it really 100% air in it. When I sprayed, it looked like it has some kind of liquid in it, so I passed. But I will check it out again.

Yeah, vacuum cleaner is also no, no for me. I used it on my desktop computer until my fan separated from the slot. It was really powerful vacuum cleaner :-)

You're welcome guys) We're on the same team)) have the same piece of hardware and tryin to get the best out of it)))
Well, just finished testing Deus Ex and LA Noir, and after hours of gameplay with bios 1.70 and Nvidia certified 295.73 drivers i had no throttling at all. Max temps i got on these games were 65-68'C.
About the dust, neither do i have cleaned it, but in the future want to clean it with a simple vacuum cleaner, but now, after reading your posts, I'm afraid a little)))))

As i am trying more and more game titles as well, i see no throttling happening and my model is X770-11C.

Temperatures are quite normal to me and in general i am very happy so far with Bios 1.70

P.S. New Toshiba Qosmio X870 is preparing for release which is the new Qosmio kid (probably with Nvidia Keplar technology) :)
