Today, whilst browsing the Internet, my laptop randomly decided to cut to a screen with this error message:
Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Realtek RTL8101E/8102E PCI-E Ethernet Controller v1.07 (080320)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082)

For realtek RTL8101E/802E PCI-E Ethernet Controller v1.07 (080320)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
I have absolutely no idea what it means, and I never use any ethernet cable because i have a wireless connection, but it's relentless. I have gone through F2 and F12 and all the settings are perfectly fine. BIOS order is fine with HDD on the top.
What should I do?
Best regards

Hi everyone
Just to UPDATE on my problem:
1. I have taken out the HDD from my laptop and put it in a External SATA drive and connected to a working computer and THE HDD is not accessible from there.
2. I have put my HDD in to a working Toshiba S200 Laptop and it DOEN'T even get to the screen where my laptop does. ALL it says is
"DISK read error
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart".
I think my HDD is gone. But i really want my DATA recovered.
Kind Regards

Hi buddy,
If you have tested the HDD in an external HDD case and other notebook without success the case is clear: The HDD must be replaced because it’s faulty!
I can understand you that you want your data recovered but what do you want to do if you are not able to access them? In this case you need help from a special data recovery laboratory but this is not cheap and cost hundreds of Euro.
I’m wondering that you don’t have a backup. Did you never try to do this or thought it would be useful?
Last but not least a new HDD can be ordered from an authorized service provider in your country or every computer shop. Satellite L300 supports 2.5” SATA HDDs.
