Buying laptop in USA to bring home to UK.Will US warranty cover me?

Hi guys,

I've spotted a Toshiba laptop I want to buy while on vacation in California, for bringing home to use in the UK.

I just wondered if the laptop developed a fault while under warranty, would I be able to get support for it in the UK, or would I have to mail it back to the store I bought it from in California to be serviced?

I could get a similar spec Dell for a wee bit more money and I think I can return the Dell in the UK if bought in the US.

Anyone able to shed some light on this for me? I'd rather have the Toshiba over the Dell.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, I tried to use the search function but couldn't get anything relevant.

Of course I’m not 100% sure but I think Toshiba doesn’t have old international warranty anymore so I think US warranty will not cover you in UK but for this you must ask Toshiba US.

What you can also do is to ask this on US forum, just to be sure about that - http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Laptops/ct-p/c_laptops/tshb

There you can insert the serial number of your notebook purchased in USA.
And you could see the warranty status and possible upgrades.

Usually the notebooks are covered by limited strand warranty which can be upgraded.
