Hello,

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L655. It has 4GB RAM, Intel Core i5 480m, ATi 5650 graphic card and Windows 7 home premium. It has a good graphic card for playing high end games however my laptop seems to be getting hot when playing the oldest games and I think that my laptop will overheat if I played any high end game because when Iam playing old games the cpu gets to 60 celsius in less than an hour.

What should I do?

Hi buddy,

the cpu gets to 60 celsius in less than an hour.
How you have checked the temperature? Such a Toshiba tool is not known to me that shows you the exact temperature.

Furthermore if the CPU would really reach 60° Celsius it’s normal behavior while gaming because the CPU runs on 100% usage and other components like graphic card, mainboard, RAM, etc. also producing a lot of heat. Don’t worry about this, notebook is much hotter while gaming.

Do you notice any problems like black screen or shutdown? If not everything is ok with your notebook. :)

Hey,

If you play games they are causing high CPU and graphic card usage. With other words all hardware parts will be used and running on high usage. This causes a lot of heat so the fan will also run on higher or highest level.

So it’s normal behavior that the notebook is hot while gaming but don’t worry. If your notebook doesn’t shut down or something else everything is ok and there are no problems. If your notebook would overheat, it would shut down immediately. ;)
