Qosmio G40 - Trying to install Magic Mouse
Posted: 04-May-2011 11:26

Hi everyone,

I tried to install the Apple Magic Mouse within Windows 7 using the unofficial driver from UneasySilence and can't get the scroll, only left and right clics.

Searching on the net it appears to be kind of a lottery : some wins, some loses ; I lost…

Does anyone get a solution to give me ?

Thanks for good advice.

Hello

Well, I doubt it’s a Toshiba related issue if the mouse or mouse driver doesn’t work properly.

I mean if you use unofficial drivers there is no support for that and you should use official drivers if they are available. If you still have problems you should contact the manufacture of Magic Mouse.

Hum… 1- There is no official windows driver for that mouse ; 2- It could be a Toshiba related issue if the Toshiba Bluetooth stack would be concerned, and I just hoped that some Toshiba user had succeeded to use that mouse ; 3- As for your last advice to contact Apple, let's say I hope you are kidding

I agree with C3PO…
First of all it’s not related to the Toshiba notebook and secondly you are using a hardware which is not designed for Win 7 OS.
An unofficial driver might help to get the device working but indeed not all options might be available…

Sorry but i don't think that somone could be able to help you here in the forum...
Anyway... if you will get more details, please share this with us!

I posted in this forum hoping another Toshiba customer has succeeded to use this mouse for which it doesn't exist official Windows drivers.

Secondly, I thought Toshiba could be concerned by its Bluetooth stack (this mouse is a BT one) - stupidly, I forgot to say my notebook is a Qosmio G40-11Z, sorry.

Anyway, thanks for answering…

Helpful
You have to uninstall the Toshiba Bluetooth stack and install the Microsoft Bluetooth stack to make the scrolling features of the magic mouse work on Toshiba products.
When i try to install the MS stack i get an error on my Qosmio G50. If anybody knows another Bluetooth stack that works with this driver please post it.

Or better yet Toshiba, why don't you whip something up for us. I'm sure you have an egghead somewhere that can get this fixed in an hour.

The magic mouse windows drivers are here http://www.trackpadmagic.com/
