Hey everybody,

my laptop "freezed" during BIOS "PHOENIX" update 2 years ago.
SERVICE told to change the mother board, the price- like new pc, so i bought new one laptop.

I keep watching toshiba forum always, so i read lots of info about CRISIS RECOVERY MODE.
so i tried, to check my died laptop after 2 years.

My satellite M100 boots into Crisis recovery mode Fn+B.
my laptop boots up to CRISIS MODE but do not read USB KEY
i made USB flash key with the CRISDISK 1.0.0.4 program, but i am not sure i did it right way!!!

my questions is :
is it really possibly to REWRITE bios with crisis recovery mode, where i can read more information about how to do that.

i want recover my M100 :)))

I'm just guessing, but maybe the USB Flash Drive is the problem. I don't think an old Phoenix BIOS will have native low level support for a USB Mass Storage device.

A USB Floppy Disk Drive may be required.

Hey,

As Akuma wrote you should try an USB FDD instead an USB key. USB key is only supported on newer notebook models but as far as I know USB FDD will always be supported.

Anyway, just for your information: You should know what you do. This is a tricky and risky procedure and in worst case you could destroy the whole ROM module but if you already have a new notebook I don’t think it’s a problem for you. ;)
