Portege R700 and Win 7 Port Replicator Support

Hello,

Is any one running Windows 7 Pro 32bit on a R700 and using the Hi Speed Port Replicator? Part No PA3838D-1PRP.

I read on a revew site that there are no Windows 7 drivers for for the port replicator.

As far as I know you don’t need any special port replicator driver. If this port replicator is defined as compatible for your notebook model and you use original Toshiba recovery image it will be recognized automatically and you will be able to use all available ports on this port reflector.

Yes the port replicator works fine, no extra drivers needed on Win7 64bit
However I am having some display issues. Doing the following:

(undocked) Set laptop to Sleep or Hibernate
(dock)
(docked) Wake Laptop up, with laptop screen closed
(docked) External HDMI Samsung monitor flickers using 1920x1080 resolution.

Only solution is to open the laptop screen and then close it again to 'reset' the external HDMI connection.

No version of the IntelHD drivers are working either

I contacted Toshiba but got the usual runaround.

Do you know if your port replicator for R700 is compatible also with the newer series R830?

I found an info about Toshiba Hi-Speed Port Replicator II on the Toshiba Canada website:

The Toshiba Hi-Speed Port Replicator II is compatible with:
Tecra R700, R940, R950, Portege R830, R930

Notes:
1. Speeds may vary
2. Ports supported may vary with notebook model; When notebook is connected to port replicator, it is recommended not to use the ports on the notebook
3. Dual VGA and HDMI display capability depends on notebook model
4. Gigabit Ethernet support only if notebook supports it
