What happened with AC series forum?

Hi,
I cannot find AC series forum. It used to be under LAPTOPS, MINI-NOTEBOOK and TABLET -> Mini Notebook Series -> AC series.
Has it been moved? If yes, where is it now?
Has it been deleted?
I'm an active AC100 user and this forum is sometimes helpful...
BR,
kociu

Aah! So there IS someone who seem to bother about the obvious. Welcome to the club, dear.
That thread got out of order since I posted my first post under the thread related to the new Folio 100 update for Flash. The update that's ,ore like a joke or that seems to goof up with a ridiculousness of such colossal proportions, that it doesnt pisses me anymore.
By now you must have figured that this brand new update actually fails to perform. I mean the Flash part. I wonder if there was any quality check done before releasing the bug infested update.
So now finally someone worries if the thread has been shifted? Well it hasnt. Its sad that no moderator or the authority realizes the meager need of respecting the freedom of speech and to never keep the threads out of order just because it candidly exposes the flaw.
I was truly ashamed, Toshiba.
Damn, yet I love the beauty that is Folio 100. Please do something to fix it guys. At least try a little.

Well, mediaplayer too. I cannot reach my old tread regarding x264 packaging neither... Did they saked the whole subforum?
Update form 24.2.2011 added some functionality: media player now is able to play most of iTune/PS3 formatted x264, but performance... 1080p is unwatchable, with 4fps or something. 720p is better, but still far from 24fps even when played from internal storage...

Guys take care with Toshiba. Too much impolite talk can have them suspend an entire forum since they see a negative sentiment as meaning bad publicity. They have already had their share with Android 2.1 so please be kind. I think they have done good with the 2.2 upgrade. Too bad if they need to take forums offline due to heated discussions.

Do not be so overcared. You have to speak bitter things sometimes to get into development. And since there is very little development, there are a lot of bitter things to tell. Just wiping out forum here will not stop talks, people know how to use google for searching info and opinions.

I have 1080p FULL-HD sample, and it goes flawlessly on ac100. Have You tried a 'hardware decoding' mode, if you are using any smart player?
There is no support of the AC3-sound, and often users getting sound by activating the 'software decoding' mode, and this decoding will be much slower.

I have 1080p FULL-HD sample
What h264 profile does it use? What packaging? What video bitrate? Is it only one from a huge bunch, or was it specially created to prove 1080p playback on AC100?
I do not use external players, only included Toshiba Media Players...

@ ~/tmp $ ffmpeg -i ./japan.avi
FFmpeg version 0.6, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers

...
Input #0, avi, from './japan.avi':
Metadata:
ISFT : Lavf52.86.1
Duration: 00:01:06.74, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 18048 kb/s
Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 1920x1088 PAR 136:135 DAR 16:9, 50 tbr, 50 tbn, 50 tbc
Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 64 kb/s
At least one output file must be specified
it is a "sample to prove", you are right in this supposition, but I've been told about real '*.mkv' playback, I'll test real samples as soon as possible.

Pretty good bitrate to process, but is it really x.264? Also packaging 1080p in .avi - I have never seen it in a real life before...
But any things has right to be If this file example is copyright free, can you share it for educational purposes?

This movie sample was created when I have only bought the device (november 2010), and in 2.1 android player sometimes jerked the sound and video, but in 2.2 it goes simply flawlessly. The reasons of filename extension and codecs are simple - we were trying to get this thing to work, it was done at work, I've boasted that my smartbook handle Full-HD, and we have full-HD monitor in room. So it is a sample to prove, and it proves nothing except the ability to show 1920x1080 video picture.

Looks I am too late to see a link. Coupl you resent it over PM?
By the way, how you managed to get 1080p (page 92 of the AC100 user manual stated it is possible) over HDMI monitor? I have tried connecting several. All you ever get is copied 1024x600 screen. I could not find anything on screen resolution change in any of setup menus. Any ideas?

AC100 hdmi port support 1080p only, It won't work with other resolutions, you will see wrong screen, if you see anything at all. I tried to connect my ac100-116 to several monitors/tv too. This sample was deleted from the storage due to time limitations, i'll post it again.
This is sample-to-prove anyway, real playback on full-hd tvsets and monitors is bad, I must confess. I have tested several movies, and even SD-cartoons are good to be watched only from AC100 screen, not from the TV. You can use HDMI on ac100 only for gaming, because even fonts which are used in browser are very ugly when they are on big screen.

AC100 hdmi port support 1080p only,
Well, all monitors, TV and data projectors I tried so far CAN display 1080p. But AC100 does not seems to be able to supply proper 1080p signal...
