Satellite Pro L670-14P - Cannot update Bios - error message appears

Hi,

I downloaded the latest Bios update for the afforementioned laptop, and it isn't allowing me to update. It says that I need to make sure that: Bios isn't later than 210 (mine is 1.80), AC is plugged in (it is), and that the battery is above 10% charge (mine is at 100%).

I have tried everything I can think of (running update as admin, resetting the bios to defaults, removing all power from the laptop for half an hour etc) and I still get that error message?

Has anyone else had this issue?
Its got me stumped.

Hi

Did you install VAP (value added package)?
If yes, uninstall and refresh this tool. Install it once again and reboot the notebook.
Then try to update the BIOS once again.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply! I just tried that, and Im still getting the error message? Is there anything else I could try?
I want to get this update applied to perminantly sort out the keyboard fault

Hi

Hmm… you could recover the notebook using Toshiba recovery disk.
Then you could try to update the BIOS on fresh preinstalled OS.
I wonder why you get this error because other here in the forum could update this BIOS

Hi,

Just managed to get everything backed up, wiped the C partition completely and did a fresh install of windows from the recovery disc, and still no luck

I tried doing it before and after the drivers/software were installed. Maybe I need to get in contact with Toshiba about it?

You should try to set the BIOS to default firstly.
In BIOS settings press F9 and then save the changes.
Then boot up the notebook and try to execute the exe file inside the BIOS package.
Note; the package should be unzipped firstly using WiZip or WinRAR tool!
