Deleted Linux partition and now can't boot PC

Hiya,

I had partitioned my HD to a windows xp drive and a linux drive. I deleted the Linnux partition using the application for deleting a partion in windows. I now can not boot my computer. when I turn on my PC I get the toshiba screen with all the little icons and then the following:

Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.45
copyright (C) 1997-2007. Intel Corporation

PXE-E61 Media test failure. check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot agent.
error: no such partition.
grub rescue>

I don't have my recovery as I am abroad at the moment. What can I do????? I am using a friends pc to write this. The ailing PC is a laptop.

I'm not very computer smart-so if you are kind enough to answer for me, please try to speak slowly and use easy words

Try holding down the Zero Key while you turn on the notebook, this starts the Recovery Process on some models.

If that doesn't work then you could try fixing the Boot Sector using a Windows CD.

Hi

You can download the WIindows setup disk from Microsoft page:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994/

Then you could install Microsoft recovery console which helps you to use the commands Fixmbr and Fixboot in order to fix the boot manager:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654/

I think this should help you other wise use the Live disk like WinPE or BartPe in order to boot the notebook.

thanks for that--sadly, it didn't work. the laptop just made obnoxious beeping noises and then went to the message I typed in above

As I'm overseas and not at home, I don't have a windows boot disc to hand. Is there something I can DL from this site that might do the trick?

Hi

Obviously the notebook’s BIOS cannot boot from HDD and therefore it switches to LAN.
You will need to reinstall the OS again. But the Windows CD is required… so you have no other choices…

If you want to delete partition of Hard Disk of Linux operating system then Linux setup CD/DVD enter in laptop then format hard disk.
