Tecra A11 fan speed at 100% all the time

Hi, one of my staff has a new Tecra A11 laptop. I recently updated the bios to the latest version 2.60, and ever since then the fan is constantly on full speed. Prior to the upgrade it would only be noticable when the laptop was being heavily utilised but would slow back down when idle. Anyone else seen/had this issue? I woudln't mind flashing it back to the old bios but cannot see it available on the tosh web site.

Try resetting the BIOS settings. Power on the laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS.

Has the laptop ever been to a service center or had a mainboard replaced?

Hi

In your case I recommend setting the BIOS back to default.
You can do this in BIOS. As far as I cam remember you could get default press F9.
But the option is mentioned in BIOS… so check this.

Furthermore I recommend changing the CPU and cooling module performance in Windows Power Options.

This should help to reduce the cooling fan speed.

Hi buddy,

If this happened after BIOS update, I would recommend resetting the BIOS to default settings as well.
You can do it if you press F9 key in BIOS and then save the default settings.

Well the user finally dropped off there laptop and I did the settings to default. Happy to say it worked.
