I have used the Toshiba Recovery disk which formats the HD and then installs a fresh W2000.
Wait a moment. Does this means you have installed W2000 as original Toshiba recovery image you got with your notebook?
Fact is that delivered recovery image is designed for certain notebook model and if there is no hardware problem it must work. So I’m presuming there is some hardware problem.
I have noticed the same on my old Portege 2000. I can install recovery image sucessfuly but after first start BSOD is shown. I have tried to install own WXp, exchanged HDD. No chance. I presume some controller on motherboard is defective.
