NB200 OS not installed error message

Hi hope people might be able to help. My wife's NB200 (14 months old of course) was working fine then suddenly hibernated and now refuses to boot. It tried to boot from LAN. When I disabled LAN boot option in setup the PC simple says

Operating System not found

endlessly.

In boot options I only have FDD and LAN - the HD is identified in boot setup but seems to be either empty (unlikely) or corrupted.

Of course being a netbook there is no FDD or DVD/CD ROM to use a recovery disk in!

Is it very dead or is there any hope?

It looks like the hdd malfunction, anyway, the system doesn't recognize it for some reason......

Of course being a netbook there is no FDD or DVD/CD ROM to use a recovery disk in!

Even if you had dvdrom it couldn't help you if the hdd is dead.As I know, the hdd has 3 year warranty and should be replaced at the service center. Contact them, I hope you will solve issue.

If you have important files on the HDD, you could try a File Recovery program such as Recuva. You may need to connect the HDD to another PC in Windows using a USB Adapter.

Note that you can create a USB Recovery Flash Drive with the Recovery Media Creator software (A link should be on the Desktop). You can order Recovery Media from Toshiba if needed.
