Do anybody know how to detect a bad/corrupt file?

Basically my laptop keeps crashing, after some looking through though i believe this may be to do with a file i have ( at the moment i only really have pictures, videos and music files).

Is there any way I can find out if one of them is causing my laptop to freeze?

Crashing!
Yes but what happen exactly? Is some error message shown on the screen or what?

Theoretically, bad driver/program can cause crashing or Os itself. What error message do you get. I advise you to reinstall a display driver

Remove the previos one, restart the laptop and install new downloaded display driver.

Well the antivirus is supposed to do it, isnt it?

Well the antivirus is supposed to do it, isnt it?

yeah, but even with good antivirus and firewall installed you can get viruses or trojans.........
