Satellite Pro 4360 - Booting from SSD via Cardbus (PCMCIA) possible?
Posted: 01-Aug-2010 20:50

Hi all,

I have an old SP 4360.
Does anyone know if a BIOS upgrade to 2.70 will allow me booting off a SSD inserted into the Cardbus pc card slot?
Right know the Bios only recognizes DVD, HDD and FLOPPY as boot devices.

Second issue:
I have confllicting info about max. RAM size. Some sources say 320mb max while the (online) manual states 576mb max. Someone know if 576mb is really supported?

Hi

Please check this threads:
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=82016

Please note that memory upgrade depends on the notebook’s chipset.
You can check the chipset of the Sat Pro 4360 notebook and could search for details on the Intel page (I assume it’s Intel chipset).

Regarding booting from SSD;
I doubt a BIOS update would allows booting from external SSD… usually such old notebook were able to boot from CD, HDD or FDD only…
