Cannot Create Recovery Media
Posted: 30-May-2010 05:50

While Attempting to create Recovery Media for my new Toshiba L-500 laptop; I get the following error message: -
{Failed to read the following file.
D:\ZZImages\ZZImages\PREINST13.SWM
(Error Code: 020150-20-00000000)}

This happened while create Recovery Disk 1 and Disk 3.... with the same error message; whereas the Recovery Disk 2 was created without any problem.
I tried to burn the files again for Disks 1 & 3 which failed again but Disk 2 was again fruitfully created without any issues.

Please advise of the possible solution.
(Used Transonic DVD-R 4.7GB//120Min//16X) to create Recovery Disks from Toshiba Recovery Media Creator)

Try to use TDK or Verbatim DVD-R. I have used these empty discs to create recovery discs on several different Toshiba notebooks and every time everything went well.

It sound crazy but you can have such problems using some certain discs.
