Satellite laptop with widescreen shows black space on both sides
Posted: 14-Apr-2010 21:07

I have a Satellite laptop which has widescreen but on the screen it is not wide but has a black space either side of the working screen. How do I change settings to make it widescreen?
I have tried everything in display setting incl changing resolution etc...not got a clue what to do.

Thanks :)

Hi,

Reinstall a graphic car driver, play with the settings like screen resolution, connect to the external monitor (I think, it will the same)

Have you noticed the same if you enter BIOS settings or when Toshiba welcome screen is shown?
Can you tell us which notebook model do you have, which OS is preinstalled and display driver version preinstalled on your Satellite notebook?

Reinstall display driver and everything should be OK.

Hi

I’m not sure what graphic card you notebook has but my notebook with Intel graphic chip contains an option in the Intel graphic media accelerator (you can find it in control panel)
There you can change the Aspect Ratio!
In my case it’s set to full screen (no border).

Please check this too!
