Satellite L350 keept shutting down
Posted: 12-Apr-2010 09:46

Help Please this laptop is driving me crazy.

Over the last few days it kept shutting down while I was on it and now it won't start at all.

It gets to the opening Toshiba screen now and looks like its booting up then a grey screen appears and a box saying it coudln't start up and click ok to shut it down. I've pressed F8 on it when I turn it on but it won't open on safe mode either.

Any help would be gratefully received!!

Thanks
Tonny

Hi

As I understand you cannot boot into the windows but you can boot the notebook and can access the Advanced boot menu pressing F8 button.
Is it right?

Well, firstly a bad news:
It seems the notebook cannot boot into windows cause of system malfunction.

Good news;
It seems to be only a software issue and new OS installation should fix this.

What to say… take your recovery disk and try to reinstall the OS again.

Good luck

Hi dee342,

In my opinion the case is clear: If you can’t access the advanced boot menu you have to reinstall Windows. It seems that something has muddled up some important boot files and therefore you have to reinstall the OS.

So take the Toshiba recovery disk and follow the screen instructions. Windows will be reinstalled in few minutes. :)
