My NB200 is great except for the performance of the ALPS touchpad, slow and sometimes no response to movement or tap to click.

All my other (non-Toshiba)laptops have Synaptics touchpads and they perform well. The Toshiba driver downloads page shows Synaptics drivers listed for NBxxx series.

So my question is;
does anyone know if specific models in the NBxxx series use Synaptics touchpads?

Hi

To be honest I don’t understand your problem... I have checked the Toshiba driver download page for NB200 and there you can download the Alps Electric and Synaptics touchpad driver. That means you have to install both drivers!!!

So I think reinstalling the drivers should work for you. :)

I think there is a new Touchpad driver that improves response, give that a try. (My NB200 has an Alps Touchpad, so its likely that yours does too)

Also update the BIOS.
