Guys,

I installed Ubuntu (Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala) on my laptop (Dual boot with Vista) but after few minutes the temperature goes very high starting from 35 to 45 up to 72 within 15 minutes.

The problem doesn't exist in Windows Vista.
Can anybody help me with the issue please?? I'm new to linux so if you decided to help me please make it as simple as possible.

Cheers,

Zohair

Hi

Are you running any background programs on linux?

I had a similar issue on another notebook that on Linux the CPU fan is always running. To solve this program I had to configure something on the boot files and thermal management of Linux. This was very tricky so I asked a Linux specialist for help.

Maybe you should do the same… Just ask on a Linux forum for help. The guys know a lot of and the most users here only work with Windows I think… ;)
