1TB Stor.E TV is very glitchy

I bought the 1 TB Stor.E TV about a month ago, overall I am satisfied with the product but it is very glitchy.

Glitches and bugs that I have encountered:

1. When watching most videos, a flickering thin grey bar hugs the left side of the screen.
2. Sometimes when pausing a video, the Stor.E TV locks up and has to be completely reset
3. Selections made withing the setup folder regarding audio and video often have to be reconfigured, as the player sets itself back to default frequently.

feel free to add your bugs and glitches to this list.

Maybe Toshiba will fix some items if they ever issue a firmware update

Hi vox_1,

I’m not Stor.E TV owner but have you contacted an authorized service provider already? Maybe that’s not normal and can be fixed with a replacement or other power supply.

Just give them a call and let’s wait what they say about this. The technicians can try to repair it for example and it’s worth a try.

I've noticed these glitches pop up as well for me.

Resetting the box helped me, and keeping the setting on at 702 rather than 1080i HD helped. I read in the manual somewhere that it's set up better for 702 than 1080i (I don't know why though).

Seems to help.

But it still freezes on pause if the screensaver goes on.

Anyone able to assist or know of firmware? I can find very little online. I love the product but I'd like the bugs fixed.

I just bought the 1TB unit and watched a few movies with it connected to my laptop. Shorlty afterwards, I copied soem data form my laptop onto the HDD, then used it again to watch a film. The unit started behaving odd, making lots of clicking noises and then shutting itself off. I started getting worried about the data I had copied (not backed up) and tried to copy it back to my laptop with no luck. I got a message saying use checkdisk to find out why but it crashed on me half way thru the checkdisk scan.

I'm not too please with this thing right now.
